Yesterday I took the train to San Diego, not for Comic Con itself, but to see Joss Whedon at Zachary Levi’s wonderful Nerd HQ.
Nerd HQ is the perfect antidote for Comic Con madness: for $20 you can see some of the biggest names in Hollywood in an intimate setting, with reserved seating. Yes, reserved seating…no waiting in line.
Everything was beautifully run and organized, and the venue itself, which also features two bars and a full menu, as well as a kick-ass photo booth, is the perfect spot to escape from the madness that is Comic Con.
The conversation with Joss Whedon was an hour long Q&A, where he answered questions about The Avengers, Much Ado About Nothing, Doctor Horrible 2, Cabin in the Woods, and Buffy comics.
There were insights into his writing process, his collaboration with his brothers and Drew Goddard, and the awesome parallel of Loki=Spike.
Thank you Zac, I hope to be back next year for many more NerdHQ panels.
